"With over 30 years experience, we always look for practical, innovative ways of meeting our clients’ briefs, budget and business objectives"

Building a Safer Future

Airey Miller is currently undertaking a review of the Government proposals for reforming the Building Regulatory System and what this will mean for our public sector clients and how they should be positioning themselves in order to meet the new requirements. The new reforms will undoubtedly add significant additional cost and resource to our clients development proposals.

While the scheme is currently under consultation, many of our clients are concerned that current projects may not meet the new standards and what they can do to be compliant, albeit the requirements are not mandatory at present. Airey Miller is currently advising their clients on how to future-proof their current schemes and what areas of the new Regulatory Reform they should be focusing. This advise will be given so that when they take handover of their building they will be in a better position to ensure that they have a building and all information in a form that complies with the proposals.

This is the most significant reform of the Building Regulatory system for buildings over 18m (6 stories) and buildings with multiple households. The reform seeks to make the process to approval more accountable and traceable - "The Golden Thread".

Airey Miller will be looking to present our thoughts and proposals, along with our BIM capability, for a new structured approach to delivery of the new Regulatory Reform requirements once the proposals have been agreed.
