Assistant Finance Manager

We are looking for an ambitious, confident and experienced individual to assist the Finance Manager and Directors in our busy finance department.

Airey Miller is an expanding company, encompassing 3 businesses and we're looking for an individual who's invested in their own personal growth and willing to grow with us.


About the Job

The successful applicant will need to meet the requirements of the job role listed below.  You will directly assist the Finance Manager, who is an Associate Director of the businesses, and you'll be part of a small but busy team which feeds into the Board.


  • Profit and Loss

  • Expenditure analysis

  • Bank reconciliation

  • Sales & Purchase Invoices via Quickbooks

  • Mileage & expenses

  • Monthly financial report updates

  • Manage disbursement & sub contractor invoices & appointments

  • Monthly payroll & depreciation journals

  • Prepayments and accruals posting and management

  • Fixed assets processing and depreciation calculations

  • Inter company invoicing

  • Year End accounts preparation / reconciliation

  • Analyse monthly invoicing against targets

  • Credit cards processing

  • Petty cash maintenance

  • Credit Control – issuing statements / chasing payment

  • Personal tax advice

  • Drawings & dividends

  • Advanced Excel

  • Able to work well under pressure

  • AAT or equivalent

  • Own transportation

Remuneration & Other Information

  • Assistant Finance Manager

  • Sevenoaks Office (with flexibility to work from home)

  • Full time 

  • Permanent

  • £40,000 - £45,000 (subject to experience)

  • BUPA Private Medical

  • Professional Subscriptions

  • 28 days holiday (inc. bank holidays)

  • 1 day off for your birthday

  • 'Duvet' day

  • 3-4 days off between Christmas & New Year (at Directors' discretion)
